The Berkeley McNair Research Journal publishes premier articles by UC Berkeley McNair Scholars who have recently completed our McNair Program. Dedicated and passionate about turning their McNair projects into publishable papers, the undergraduate authors spend nearly a year spearheading original research projects, composing and refining their articles, and preparing to share their research with the academic publishing community. A panel of UC Berkeley faculty and McNair Staff thoroughly review all articles submitted for publication and train Scholars in the process of turning innovative research projects into cutting-edge scholarship.
Our Scholars report that publishing in The Berkeley McNair Research Journal is a life-changing experience, creating greater opportunities to advance in academia and a renewed sense that their voices and perspectives can produce change in academia. Each year, the Journal features topics that are often underrepresented in mainstream scholarly literature and serves as a platform for scholars to showcase projects that are reflective of their communities.
